The Taiwan Clinical Trial Consortium (TCTC) works with pharmaceutical and medical device sponsors to advance patient care and provides on-site clinical coordination services to the Taiwan-Bio industry. It has been in operation since 2011 and now brings together 14 disease-specific clinical trial consortiums, involving almost 300 experienced clinical trial doctors and PIs. The mission of the TCTC is to shorten the duration of clinical medical device validation process, improve human health and assist the development of the Taiwan medical software/AI industry.
Federated learning (FL) is a machine learning method that enables multiple parties to collaboratively train a model orchestrated by a trustable central server while keeping data locally. Taiwan AI Labs build up the first open-source federated learning framework in TW which called Harmonia. Harmonia is used across multiple medical centers in TW by a top-down TFDA government guidance. It gained a lot of reputation due to its patient privacy protection mechanism, hospital cross-organizational collaboration operation, and cross-organizational model training and validation processing.
